2021 LGBTQ Health Awareness Month

Call for Research Works-in-Progress

The Boston Children’s Office of Health Equity and Inclusion, Rainbow Consortium on Sexual and Gender Diversity, and LGBTQ & Friends invite submissions for research works-in-progress to be presented to the Boston Children’s Hospital Health Care Disparities Research Working Group on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 12:00-1:30pm via Zoom as part of programming for LGBTQ Health Awareness Month.

The Health Care Disparities Research Working Group was formed to work on advancing pediatric health equity in science and care delivery through a longitudinal exchange of health policy and research/clinical initiatives. The group is comprised of ~40 participants including faculty, trainees and staff and is pleased to provide this opportunity for feedback.

Research projects should address health or healthcare considerations for LGBTQ children, youth, and families or address practices to promote a hospital environment that is welcoming and inclusive of the entire LGBTQ community. Projects should be unpublished works-in-progress (can include study design, progress to date and/or preliminary data). We welcome innovative research from our Boston Children’s colleagues, as well as colleagues from other institutions in the Boston area.

Each researcher will have 10 minutes to present their project, with time for Q&A. PowerPoint slides are encouraged. Up to 5 slots are available for presentations.
