RSVP now for the second Solidarity Circle | Restorative Justice - to be held at 7pm on Wednesday, July 8 to receive a Zoom link on the day of the event. This student-led event will include reflection, definition, and begin making an inroads in how restorative justice is imagined, activated, and used to re-think our societies and communities.
In honor of Pride month, join us for a conversation with members of the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and more) community in the Greater Boston area. Representing an array of identities and experiences, the panelists will discuss what it’s like to access care, their positive and negative experiences within healthcare, and how those experiences intersected with their identities. Through these healthcare narratives from within the community, panelists will share advice on caring for LGBTQIA+ patients. Q&A session will follow.
The third State of QTPOC Affairs -- a forum that addresses inequities and invisibility -- focus is on anti-blackness. Our current moment stresses the urgency to name the myriad ways white supremacy makes lives unsafe and deadly for LGBTQ+ BIPOCs. It is imperative that we hold conversations, urge action, and support collective organization that helps lead to systemic change.

Given the current moment of political and social upheaval and our institution’s abrupt transition to “distance learning” this spring, we invite students to cultivate a sense of community while engaging in brave and respectful discussion about recent events and issues. The first of four (hour-long) “Solidarity Circles” this summer will be on healing justice. Join us for a discussion on what healing justice means for you and members of our community.
In celebration of Pride Month, the Institute of Politics welcomes IOP Resident Fellow S'16 Mayor Annise Parker, CEO and President of the Victory Fund and Victory Institute, and Massachusetts State Senator Julian Cyr for a Fast Forum on Thursday, June 25th at 1pm ET. Together, they will discuss their efforts to support LGBTQ+ candidates and increase the LGBTQ+ representation in elected offices across the country.
